How Childhood

Trauma impacts

adult life.

Being a parent can be one of the greatest joys life can bring!

But lets get really honest, it's difficult to be a parent.
It doesn't come with an owners manual or a users guide....

Until now!

There really is an art to it.  Parenting is more about being flexible and fluid in the way you do it than the what you do.  Having knowledge of the craft gives you the flexibility to do it the way each child needs it.  There really is no real wrong way to do as long as you are following a few basic rules and guidelines.  Outside of that, good parenting is about the parents way of crafting those guidelines around the needs of the child.  That is when you find the joy in being a parent.

The Art and Joy of Parenting is more than just a book or website.  It's better even than a users guide.  The Art and Joy is designed to be a community of support and knowledge.  In this community members will get access to regular training and support through webinar, forums, information libraries, and coaching.  Parenting can be a blast, and with the right support it is.  Truth be told, we all get lonely as parents.  There is a persistent nag that "Maybe I'm failing"  "Maybe I'm not doing it right"  "Perhaps I did that wrong" that every parent feels at many times through out the 18+ years that we have the direct influence on the children.

You want to join The Art and Joy for these reasons:

Support!!  Without support we are all left alone to slog through those dark and lonely moments.  Parents and close friends are partial and biased.  Also, you may not feel comfortable sharing your struggle with them.  It is hard for family and friends to forget things.  In our therapy practice, one of the first "rules" we teach couple is to stop talking to parents and friends about the troubles they are having with their partners.  As hard as they try, people close to us are not able to give the unbiased, objective information we need in tough times.  Parents are too emotionally connected.  And do we really want to share some of the struggles children can bring with them?  You want grandma to think their grandkids are angles.

Through webinars, newsletters, mentoring, and forums members are able to access a broad community of support from unbiased and emotionally disconnected supportive parents.

Training!!  There is nothing more frustrating than being clueless about how to do something and feeling very lost.  Not only do we need knowledge, we need it fast, and we need it to be relevant.  The Art and Joy of Parenting is your source for instant access to a wealth of resources so that you always have the tools you need.  You do not have to be an expert, but you can have access to a team of them.

Peace of Mind!!  When you join the others who are finding The Art and especially the JOY of Parenting you gain peace of mind that you can succeed and that you will have the resources, skills, and the support you need to raise brilliant, successful children while maintaining your sanity and happiness.  You gain the ability to see things in the broader lifelong perspective and not just in the moment.

Joining is easy!  Just go to the store on navigation bar.  Choose the level of membership you want and start to gather all the information and support you need to be the envy of all you friends when you relax and begin parenting with a new perspective and focus. As soon as you join you get full access to the library of research and articles, past webinars, and will begin receiving the monthly newsletter full of stories and tools.  Each month you will also gain access to the webinars with Brett.  The first Wednesday of each month, Brett will explore a specific topic exposing the craft in order to empower you in finding the Joy.  Additionally, all members will receive a monthly CD that includes the audio of the general members webinar and the transcript of the premium members Q/A sessions.

Why do you want this training from Brett?

Because as a Social Worker, a foster parent, an adoptive parent, a former Professor of Social Work, and now a full time therapist focusing on the needs of clients suffering from grief and trauma, Brett understands what it is to be a parent.  Many of the books on the market are clinical or academic in their origin and scope.  Brett brings those ideas into his real world applications. Having taught hundreds of Social Workers around the state of Idaho as well as thousands of Foster and Adoptive parents in conferences to enhance the care of these kids, Brett has gained a reputation as having a real gift for helping parents see through the chaos and into the child.  The end result is JOY and Harmony in the home and peace to the mind of the parent.
